Evropeyskaya Elektrotekhnica participates in the construction of federal aviation infrastructure in the South Urals and the Far East
September 17, 2018. Moscow — PJSC Evropeyskaya Elektrotekhnica (hereinafter, the Company), a leader of the Russian engineering market, signed two new contracts in August 2018 for the installation of engineering equipment at two new terminals under construction at the Khabarovsk (Novy) and Balandino (Chelyabinsk) airports.
As part of these projects, the Company acts as a supplier to the general contractor and consortium Limak-Marashstroy (Turkey), a strategic partner of Evropeyskaya Elektrotekhnica.
The Turkish company has extensive international experience in infrastructure construction. The consortium has proved itself in Russia, having built the international airport Platov in Rostov-on-Don from scratch, during preparation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
In 2018/2019, the volume of engineering equipment deliveries and services rendered by Evropeyskaya Elektrotekhnica Group of Companies under the contracts is preliminary estimated at the amount of RUB 200 million. The deliveries have already begun: The Company delivered cable support systems in August 2018. To date, the Company works on deliveries of more complex engineering equipment: substations, switchboard equipment, uninterruptible power supply units, ventilation systems, and lighting equipment.
Ilya Kalenkov, General Director of PJSC Evropeyskaya Elektrotekhnica, commented on this event: “Our Group continues to participate in Russia's major infrastructure projects. Medium-term projects are becoming important for increasing both the consolidated revenue of Evropeyskaya Elektrotekhnica and our own profit.
The well-deserved reputation of a reliable supplier allows us to win serious international tenders. For example, our positive experience of cooperation with the Turkish consortium Limak-Marashstroy was an important factor contributing to our entry into these projects. Since 2016 we have successfully worked with our Turkish colleagues during the construction of airport complexes in Rostov-on-Don and Volgograd.
It is also important to note that with such big projects we do not engage in ordinary wholesale trade. The Group's engineers develop technical drafts of the relevant engineering subsystems for facilities under construction. The teams at the Group's Moscow and Krasnodar offices carry out development, completion, supply, installation, and commissioning of engineering equipment. We provide turnkey solutions for our areas of operation. Considering the growth of our 'Eastern' business, we found it necessary to start forming a new regional office in the Far East in Khabarovsk.”
FOR REFERENCE:
· Construction of a new airport terminal at Khabarovsk airport
Khabarovsk International Airport (Novy) is a federal A class airport.
The construction of the new airport terminal complex was started in March 2018 by Deputy Prime Minister Yury Trutnev, the authorized representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District. The operation of the facility is planned for the end of 2019.
The total extent of the investment in the construction of the new domestic terminal with an area of 26 thousand square meters will amount to around RUB 5 billion. The development project of Khabarovsk (Novy) Airport includes reconstruction of the airport complex and construction of terminal airport infrastructure and an AirCity commercial development zone.
The project will significantly increase the airport's capacity: In the next ten years the passenger traffic of Khabarovsk air hub is expected to double to 4 million passengers per year. The project will also lead to an increase in the Khabarovsk region's GRP by RUB 11.4 billion.
This project is being implemented in a priority development area (a specific economic zone made to enhance the development of the areas) and is entitled to the corresponding benefits. The project is funded by the Far East Development Fund and Vnesheconombank. [1]
· Construction of a new Balandino airport terminal (Chelyabinsk)
Chelyabinsk International Airport (Balandino) is a federal B class airport.
The new airport terminal is planned to begin operation by the end of 2019. In 2020, Chelyabinsk will host summits of the SCO and BRICS countries.
The new terminal area will be 16.3 thousand square meters. The terminal construction value is estimated at RUB 3 billion. [2] As a result of this project, the capacity of the Chelyabinsk Airport will increase to 2.5 million passengers per year.
Chelyabinsk International Airport will have three stages of renovation to increase its capacity. The domestic terminal, on which construction is underway, is the first stage. Then the existing domestic terminal as well as the international one will be expanded until 2035. The international terminal will be completed by 2022. The full reconstruction of Chelyabinsk airport will be completed in 2035. Its budget is RUB 8.5 billion. [3]
